Q: What’s involved in a free quote?
Each free quote includes an onsite visit, initial consultation and estimate from our Level 5 arborist. They can identify any potential issues with trees and provide you with an obligation-free quote for any required works.
Q: Do you do hedges and gardens?
We have a team dedicated to carrying out hedge work and there is no hedge to big or small. But in terms of general gardening like weeding, mowing and planting, that is a service we leave to the local gardeners.
Q: What does Arbor Pride’s insurance cover?
It is important to make sure employed contractors hold the appropriate insurances when working on your property. Uninsured contractors aren’t covered for any damage to your property or any injuries that may occur.
Arbor Pride’s Public liability insurance covers up to $20 million for your property, neighbouring properties and any injuries. All employees are covered by Workers Compensation Insurance and Professional Indemnity insurance.
Q: What is the difference between a qualified and an unqualified Arborist?
In NSW there are no regulations overseeing who can carry out tree work.
Unqualified Arborists have no formal qualifications or training and will often lack the necessary insurances to protect you, your property, or even themselves.
A qualified arborist must have a minimum level 3 TAFE qualification in arboriculture. This ensures they have years of experience and adequate formal training to ensure they know what they’re doing.
Q: How do I know if I need council approval?
Council approval is required for many types of tree works, particularly within the Northern Sydney region. There are a variety of factors that are involved when it comes to pruning or removing trees such as the type of tree, your council’s regulations or the legislations such as the 10/50 zones. If you’re unsure, contact a qualified arborist and they can determine if you need approval and guide you on the next steps.
Q: Can you help me get council approval?
Receiving council approval is often a difficult process and is very dependant on the council’s regulations and your circumstances. If a tree requires pruning or removal but will need council approval we can provide you with the necessary documentation (such as an arborist report) and tips to aid this process and increase your chances of acquiring approval.
